Dr. Vikas Batra 

Dr. Batra

Dr. Vikas Batra is an established and highly skilled physician with over 15 years of experience in pulmonary, sleep and critical care. He is well regarded in the community, earning numerous accolades for his quality and patient centered care. 

Dr. Batra obtained his medical degree at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. His residency in internal medicine was at State University of New York, health science center at Brooklyn, and he completed his fellowship training in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. 

He has special interest in asthma and lung cancer.  He is Fellow member of American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians and American academy of Sleep Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.


Dr. Reetu Singh

Dr Singh specializes in diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders like  Diabetes, insulin pumps, thyroid disorders including thyroid cancers, disorders of adrenal gland,  pituitary gland etc. She finished her fellowship training in Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She is board certified in Endocrinology. 


Dr. Zouhair Harb

Dr. Harb received his Medical Degree from American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon.   

He completed his residency and fellowship at Yale University, in Connecticut, in the department of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in 1996.

Dr. Harb moved then to Sussex County in Delaware where he served for over 9 years as an attending physician at Beebe Medical Center. During that time, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association Chapter in Delaware.  He met his wife, Desiree, a native Delawarian, who was a nurse at Beebe. 

He then traveled abroad to practice in Abu Dhabi from 2008 to 2022.  He served as Medical Director and Chief for the Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and sleep Medicine, where he helped establish the basis for the American standards for the practice of respiratory diseases in Abu Dhabi. He contributed to the development of “National Guidelines for the Initial Diagnosis and Management of Asthma in Adults” and the “Public Health Center for Chronic Respiratory Diseases Program” in the United Arab Emirates.  

He was the consultant to the Embassy of the United States of America in the UAE, where he provided care to the expat American citizens, military and diplomats. He served as an Aero Medical Examiner Specialist at the General Civil Aviation Authority in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Harb has lectured internationally on a variety of respiratory diseases and current treatments. 

In 2023, Dr. Harb transitioned full circle back to Sussex County to help meet the rapid growing population pulmonary needs.

Caryn B. Chasanov, APRN

Caryn Chasanov is originally from Bridgeville, Delaware. She received her nursing degree from Delaware Technical and Community College in 1991. She returned back to college while raising three children, working in Intensive Care at Nanticoke Memorial and Bayhealth- Kent Campus. Caryn obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Delaware, in 2000, and then completed the Family Nurse Practitioner Program through Wilmington University in 2010.

Caryn worked in Intensive Care for 18 years; worked as Nursing Supervisor at Kent General; and taught as adjunct faculty for Delaware Tech-Terry Campus as a clinical instructor, and nursing laboratory instructor. She started her Nurse Practitioner career in urgent care at Express Care in Dover, Delaware in 2010. Later that year she joined Sussex Pulmonary and Endocrine Consultants to work with Dr. Batra and Dr. Singh taking care of Pulmonary, Sleep and Endocrine patients. Currently, Caryn focuses on patients with Pulmonary and Sleep Disorders.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children and dogs. She likes running, biking, yoga, and  outdoor activities.. 


Scott L. Bowden, RRT

Scott is a native of Sussex County. He attended Lee University, and also attended Cleveland Community College while living in Tennessee. He graduated from California College for Health Sciences where he studied respiratory care. He is a member of the NBRC, and the AARC.

Scott has been in the respiratory care field since 1985. Over the years he has worked at Bayhealth – Milford hospital, Bradley County Memorial Hospital, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Bayhealth- Kent General Hospital, and Beebe Medical Center. He has held positions as staff therapist, lead therapist, and Respiratory Supervisor while working in the hospital setting. He also has over 12 years of experience in home healthcare where he specialized in PAP therapy, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive ventilation. While in the home healthcare setting he held positions of staff therapist, operations & clinical director. Scott joined Sussex Pulmonary and Endocrine Consultants in January 2016. He performs pulmonary function testing, and works with patient’s using PAP therapy.

Spending time with his family is what he enjoys most on his off time. He also enjoys being outdoors, golfing, swimming, and target shooting.
